Fun Facts
Growing up in Morrison, I always loved being on the edge of the mountains, just inside suburbia. I love walking in nature and experiencing the seasons in CO. Some other big passions of mine have been gymnastics and fitness, writing and songwriting, and philosophy.
About Me
I did not realize my love for academia, specifically math, until I got out of high school and into the work force. I got my AA in Spanish and Economics at Red Rocks Community College and am now pursuing my BS in Math and Economics at the denver">University of Denver. I am more excited every year as I work toward my master's and PhD program. I will probably become a teacher or work in the private sector, as I love teaching in both types of settings.
Experience
I began tutoring (primarily math) in high school and have tutored students in several subjects over the years. I studied Spanish for 5 years and have traveled to Spain, with exposure to both Castellano and several Latin American Spanish dialects. Classically trained by an excellent composer, I chose to pursue singing professionally and have helped to coach lead female roles in musicals and other musicians both classically and stylistically.
Approach
My first goal with any student is to establish a tone of light-heartedness and trust. To me, encouragement and self-discovery are pivotal to the learning process. I love to help students separate the things they do well from the things they don't, and then find their best individual ways of bridging that gap. Using fun metaphors and an endless variety of strategies, my goal is for each student to not only learn but develop a positive self-image and tools for the future.
