Fun Facts
A fun fact about myself is I am a private pilot. I earned my private pilot license at the age of 18 when I was attending high school. Someday I hope to be able to fly cross country as a hobby.
About Me
I am a senior at the University of Arizona studying Biomedical Engineering with a major GPA of 3.923 and a cumulative GPA of 3.62. I am planning on graduating in May 2014. After college I am pursuing a PhD program in Biomedical Engineering were I hope to construct medical devices targeted for cardiovascular diseases. Some awards I have earned are: HENAAC Student Leadership Award by GMiS, SynCardia Inc. Anna Salazar Engineering Scholarship, and a couple of poster presentation awards.
I have held two tucson">tutoring positions. My first position was working with middle school students in the subject of algebra. I would work with a group of five students to go over different ways for them to improve their test scores. Secondly, I was a math tucson">tutor for college students in the areas of math and science focusing on Pre-Calculus and Chemistry. I work individually with each student and worked on homework or just simply reviewing material they had covered in class.
My tucson">tutoring approach is to let the student try and work out a problem before I show them how to solve it. This is essential because students work harder and do not just simply take the solution. I have seen over the time I have tutored that student’s performance increases when they are less dependent of the tucson">tutor. Therefore I will not give the student an answer if they have not truly attempted to solve the problem and this is my approach.
