About Me
I graduated from maryland/columbia">columbia">maryland/columbia">columbia-university">maryland/columbia">columbia">maryland/columbia">Columbia University with a degree in English Literature in 2011. Even though most of my college education was in English Literature, my background in mathematics would make me an ideal candidate to be a math brooklyn">tutor. I have a 4.0 in my mathematics classes.
In college, I tutored an eighth grade student in algebra. In addition to that, I've advised a high school senior through the application process. I mostly helped her with her personal essay, but I guided her through the process of picking schools that matched her interests as well.
I first try to get to know the student. I spend a lot of the first session just talking to the student, establishing a connection, and figuring out their interests. Once I get a sense of how they interact, I try to personalize my approach. I try to make the process as fun as possible by laughing with them when possible.
