Fun Facts

I bought myself a book of crossword puzzles and that is how I have been spending my winter break. I love watching and playing sports, especially basketball, Ultimate frisbee and field hockey. I am currently reading The Hobbit so that I can have a better understanding of the movies. I can lick both elbows, although it is a little harder to do with my right elbow.

About Me

I am currently a senior at the University of Arizona with a graduation date of May 2014. I have maintained a GPA of 3.583 in Creative Writing and 3.889 in Spanish Literature and an overall GPA of 3.65. I have been on the Dean's List four semesters. This past semester I was on the Dean's List With Distinction because I had straight As.

In September of 2013, I began my job as a Writing tucson">Tutor at the Pima Community College Learning Center. This has been the most rewarding job I have had. It has taught me to be very patient with students who find writing difficult and it has challenged me to be creative with my teaching approaches when there are students who do not understand conventional teaching methods. However, it is very rewarding when a student thanks me for helping him or her receive a good grade.

Whenever I tucson">tutor a student, I talk with him or her about frequent mistakes I see in the writing. I then allow the student to go through his or her paper to correct the mistakes we discussed. I do not correct the paper for the student because that would not be beneficial to his or her education. I keep a calm and encouraging attitude so that the student feels comfortable enough to ask me questions about how to improve his or her writing.
