Fun Facts
A passion of mine that quickly becomes obvious after meeting me is my love for music. I play guitar and love to sing and dance, but making up songs and changing the lyrics to already popular tunes is one of my favorite light-hearted activities. I am a unique hybrid: Kansas City-born, Cajun peach. I love high schoolers and hope to continue my pursuit in ministry by being a Young Life leader.
About Me
I am freshman at Texas Christian University studying Secondary Education. I am a Dean's Scholar and active committee member of Kappa Alpha Theta pursuing excellence in education and ministry in order to become the best high school science teacher and Young Life leader I can be.
As a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and Beta Club in high school, many of my after school volunteer opportunities came from tutoring my peers in a variety of subject matters and occasionally reading to Elementary classrooms. My job as a third grade after school care advisor has also given me experience in tutoring. Frog Tutoring would be a great outlet and practice environment for my hopeful teaching career.
As previously mentioned, I have a musically-inclined cognitive approach to things. Many of my most effective learning and teaching methods have come from catchy tunes and informative jingles. This is usually a popular universal method that can be modified to each person's enjoyment, but I have also learned the effectiveness in finding a student's personal strengths and interests and, in turn, revolving a lesson around that in order to become more relatable and interesting.
