I love to stay active. Whether playing sports, hitting the gym, or going fun places with friends, I find that my days last longer when I stay busy. In particular, I like to exercise often (especially running) because it helps me relax and unwind after a long day. I’m still a kid at heart so I enjoy watching cartoons, playing video games, and reading comics. About Me

I was born in Yerevan, Armenia and immigrated to the United States when I was about six. I have spent most of my life growing up in Los Angeles. From elementary to high school, I always tried to be an exceptional student and held a strong fascination for the sciences. For college, I went to the University of California, San Diego where I studied Biology and Psychology. During this time, I was able to participate in many extracurricular activities, including starting my own student organization and holding executive positions in various others. I am currently working up my way to applying to medical schools and hope to become a surgeon.

From elementary to college students, I have had many diverse and meaningful tutoring experiences. During college, I was a teacher's assistant for an undergraduate biology course, where I worked with students in large groups. One of the most exciting tutoring experiences I had was enrolling in an Education Studies course. The course enabled me to learn about the many factors that play a role in our educational system and allowed me to work with inner city high school students of San Diego. This experience introduced me to new skills for communicating with students and to new tactics for effective teaching. In my most recent tutoring experience, I worked with a 6th grade student, helping him with schoolwork and enriching his understanding of science. From English to math, I tutored the student using interactive lesson plans and relevant topics with which he could relate. My goal for the student was to teach him important study techniques so that he could support his own education through middle school and beyond.

In my experiences as a tutor, I have learned that no two students are the same. However, I have also learned that with unconditional support any student can be motivated to love learning.
