Fun Facts

I grew up in the multicultural city of San Francisco, fluent in Mandarin and Spanish. My favorite things are outdoor sports, literary arts, and food. There’s nothing quite like diving into crystal clear water and seeing the majestic corals and sea creatures. I am full of life when I go underwater, hearing only my own breath, becoming one with the marine life. You can find me in a lively conversation about a Walt Whitman poem or the latest season of The Walking Dead.

About Me

I recently graduated from Stanford University with a major in Biomechanical Engineering and minor in Creative Writing. I also completed an interdisciplinary honors thesis in Education. I am currently applying to medical school. My life goal is to become a physician-scientist!

Experience

I worked for an educational consulting company for 3 years offering one-to-one private tutoring. I am trained in education pedagogy, and my approach has helped students quickly improve grades and test scores.  I am well-familiarized with the structure of standardized tests, and I will teach you how to think like the question writer. I'll show you how to take advantage of the test's format, how to discern what skills are being tested, to strategize and to use your time well.

Approach

My approach is about building strong math and science foundations. I guide my students toward reaching their own understanding. I believe in building confidence in their academic capabilities by identifying their unique learning style, assessing their strengths and weaknesses, and tailoring a program to fit their needs.
