Fun Facts

One of my passions is art-- whether it takes the form of music, painting, film, or poetry. Unsurprisingly you might spot me at the Austin Film Society or reading a book at a coffee shop. I am a native Houstonian and have lived in Texas all of my life although I hope to travel more soon.

About Me

I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 20127 with degrees in radio-television-film (B.S) and philosophy (B.A.), the latter of which earned with departmental honors for my senior thesis. I was one the dean's list for the entirety of academic career. Currently I work at Waymo, google's self-driving car project but am looking to change careers so that I may have more time to pursue my artistic interests. I am also applying to graduate programs in visual anthropology for Fall 2019.

Experience

As a member of the Latin Honor Society in high school, I tutored several underclassman in the language. A member of the National Honor Society, I also tutored elementary, middle school, and high school students in an array of subjects ranging from algebra to reading comprehension. In my position as Waymo, I help adult employees understand the software and driverless car behavior.

Approach

As a tutor I enjoy coming up with creative ways in which the student might approach the material. Every student's learning style is unique, so consequently I believe that in order to be a successful tutor I should tailor the learning in way that fits his or her needs. Learning is quite important to me, and while my goal is help students create beneficial study habits and be successful in a particular subject, I also hope to spark genuine interest in the subject, whatever it may be.
