About Me

I am a 4th year medical student at Howard University College of Medicine. I am currently applying to Internal Medicine residency. My ultimate goal is to be an academic physician and start pipeline programs that will provide mentoring and tutoring opportunities to undergraduate and high school students.

Experience

I graduated undergrad as a Biology Major, Chemistry minor. I have tutored Chemistry since I was freshman year of undergrad. I do individual and group tutoring. I tutor General chemistry 1, and organic chemistry 1 and 2. I have been a teachers assistant (TA) for General chemistry 1 and and TA for organic chemistry 1. I worked for Frostburg State tutoring center for 3 and 1/2 years and spent the summer of my my sophomore year of medical school tutoring organic chemistry

Approach

I came to understand that the mindset changes everything. Many people approach Chemistry with a defeated mentality and that alone is a hinderance to success and progress. I first tackle that mindset of unbelief and make my tutees believe that it is possible! Then, they just need guidance and endurance and they will achieve. Then we get to work. More and more practice. One must make chemistry part of their everyday life and success will be at the door! Mind set first then get to work.
