Fun Facts

I like telling jokes. Anyone who spends any amount of time with me will quickly find this to be true. Not all of them are good, of course, however that doesn't stop me from trying. I am very involved in esports and competitive gaming; it has been a hobby of mine for many years. I absolutely adore spicy food and try to eat every meal spicy(especially when I cook). I have an interest in learning languages, both computer and human. I am currently learning Korean, although I'm not yet fluent.

About Me

I am a freshman science/california/sacramento">computer science major at Sacramento City College. I plan to transfer to UC Irvine in 2 years. I am a STEM nerd at heart and have been interested in computers since I was 10 years old. I graduated from Laguna Creek High School last year with a 4.11 GPA taking primarily IB and AP classes. After college, I aim to become a back-end developer of some sort, although I am still undecided on what branch of science/california/sacramento">computer science that I would like to focus on.

Experience

I have been a tutor since middle school. In eighth grade, I was in the founding group for the peer-to-peer math tutoring program that still continues to this day. I have done freelance tutoring throughout the years for younger siblings of friends for example. I regularly offer my help to any peer who needs it and in senior year of high school I worked after school as a tutor. I primarily focused on math, but I do have experience in a wide variety of subjects.

Approach

My approach is to guide the student into finding the answer for themselves. Rather than explicitly telling the student what to do or what the answer is, I like to break down the question into small pieces. This allows the student to fully conceptualize the problem so that in the future they will not have to rely on me. I guide the student in a way that lets them make the logical jumps on their own. Nudging the student into the correct direction and providing positive reinforcement is the best.

AP Chemistry Tutoring

I passed the IB Chemistry HL exam with a 5. I may be a tad bit rusty, but the knowledge is still there. I can share that knowledge.
