Fun Facts

I am an Eagle Scout. I have a love of nature and science, because of this I set up an aquaponics system in my backyard. I enjoy working with my hands and creative problem solving. My third grade teacher made the mistake of letting me pick the bonus spelling word for a test: I chose deoxyribonucleic acid.

About Me

I have an Associate's Degree in Science and am currently working on my Bachelor's Degree in Agrobusiness Management from Cal Poly - Pomona. I am also getting a minor in Urban Agriculture. I am in charge of designing and setting up a research aquaponics system and am leading a team to test the financial feasability of such a system. I have been on the Dean's list since arriving at Cal Poly - Pomona and plan to continue that level of excellence.

Experience

I have over five years experience tutoring people of all ages in math and science. The youngest client I have worked with was seven years old who needed help in common core math and reading. The oldest client I have worked with was a college aged student who needed help with statistics.

Approach

I belive in establishing a firm foundation upon which to build my clients knowledge. I start by assessing where my clients are at and discovering gaps in their knowledge that are preventing their success. I am told I have a way of explaining things that most teachers don't. I ensure that my clients know not just the answer to a problem, but why the answer is correct. I love seeing that "aha moment" when people finally "get" something they have been struggling with.
