Fun Facts
During high school my favorite sport was cross country. I do not run competitively anymore, however, I still run just for the love of running. I am the oldest of four and also the oldest of all the grandchildren in my family. I love animals and want to get a Norwegian Greyhound puppy so bad! My major is Business Administration but I have always enjoyed reading and writing throughout my life. I am always up for new things, and someday soon would like to go skydiving!
About Me
I am a sophomore Business Administration major at Ohio Dominican University. When I graduate I hope to get a job and gain some experience, and then attend The Ohio State University to earn my Masters degree in Business. I do not know what I plan to do with this degree, however, I do know I plan to be very successful.
Over the years I have had the opportunity to help my mother, an elementary teacher, in reading circles and lessons during her classes. By doing this I gained a great deal of experience in dealing with smaller children and their ability to learn. Also having younger siblings, I have gained knowledge in understanding the struggles that different children must deal with and their willingness to learn at certain stages in their lives. I am often the student during class who knows a lot of the answers, and for this, the other students in my class often come to me for help. I have always been willing and glad to give as much help to my peers as I can.
As a columbus">tutor, I want to not only help my client succeed in the specific subject area, but also to help be a mentor to my client in order to succeed in the classroom setting in general. I will not just have them fill in the blanks, but will discuss and ask questions to the client to make sure they really understand the material. Along with helping them learn the subject and improve their grade, I want them to learn better study habits as well as note taking and organizational skills, in order to excel and be more prepared for the future. I feel as if some students fall behind because they do not want to ask questions during class, and I plan to change that. I hope to give them the confidence and to encourage them to be more attentive to learn and more active in discussions during class. With the encouragement, along with repetition of the teachings, together my client and I will be able to accomplish it all.
