Fun Facts
I love to cook, and be around my family. My family is from Peru and I was the first of four to be born in the US. I love to travel and visit new site scenes. I am usually busy doing something because I like to stay productive. I am involved in my church and I LOVE helping others.One of my long term goals in life is to be fluent in 4 languages and to make a difference in the education department.
About Me
I am a former graduate of UNG. I have my B.A. in Modern Languages:Spanish with Business Emphasis. One thing that I learned about myself after I graduated is that I LOVE helping others, especially in education. So I quit my corporate job and now I am on the path to become a teacher! I am very excited to pursue this career, and I'm in the process of getting my teacher certification. I work in GPCS as a substitute teacher and I also have about 6 students that I am tutoring.
Experience
When I was in College I was a part time algebra/geometry tutor. I had two students that I worked with and being able to watch them succeed was outstanding! Aside from tutoring, in other jobs I would be asked to be a trainer. My managers loved that I had the patience to teach and how quickly I was able to connect with others. Also, I 've had the opportunity to work in a classroom as a substitute teacher & I love building relationships with the students! Currently I tutor 6 students (3-ALG/3-GEO)
Approach
Having the experience to work with different students and working with them in a classroom I've learned that one approach does not work with all students. When I have the opportunity to work with a student I like to try different approaches and see which best fits their needs.Also building a trustful relationship is very important because it makes a better working environment. and they become less self conscience.I am there to help build their confidence, to guide them, and to make learning fun!

I've worked in Middles Schools as a substitute teacher and the students will always say "You should be our math teacher!" Middle school is a crucial time to learn the basics in math and if you fall behind it can haunt you later on in High School. When I get the opportunity to sub as a math teacher, I love to make math fun and easy to understand!

When I took Honors Geometry in High school I learned how we can apply our knowledge in math to different figures and shapes. I've had the opportunity to work with 4 different geometry students and each of them enjoy working with me. I bring good energy, encouragement, and make learning fun!
Math Tutoring
I am in the process of getting my teacher certification for secondary education. While I am pursuing this I am also tutoring students one on one so I can expand my knowledge of what works and doesn't work when it comes to teaching math. I love working with students and being able to watch them excel in something they were once struggling in is such an amazing reward!
