About Me
I recently graduated with my M.A. degree in education/ohio/columbus">Special Education Moderate/Intensive license. It is a life-long dream of mine, to teach special needs students; it is so rewarding to see their faces when they accomplish a task.
As a member of the Kappa Delta Pi, I graduated with honors. I do not know the word "can't". I have had the opportunity to be a private columbus">tutor for a special needs student that was diagnosed with autism. I loved it. It was great to see her accomplishments. Now I get to help Frog columbus">Tutoring students accomplish their dreams. I love helping them learn and further themselves in their academic careers.
As a child I struggled through school and I fell through the cracks of education. I found learning to be very difficult and hoped all the time in class that I would not be called upon. About four years ago I was diagnosed with ADHD, dyslexia, and anxiety. I received accommodations and that made a world of difference in my outlook of learning. I loved to study when I was in graduate school and still love to learn; I guess I am a life learner and want to continue to learn and teach others. When I tutored students with visual impairments we worked on reading-comprehension/ohio/columbus">reading comprehension. I would have them go back and reread what they read in order to find the answers, or I would have them read the questions first, and then as they read they would find their answers. I always told the students they have to try and find the answers and not give up. I had a student who went to public school and had problems with the assignments, so I would modify the assignments so he would be able to understand them. I did a lot of explaining in terms that he would understand them and be able to get his work done. But he knew that I would not give him the answers, and that he would have to find them himself. That is what it is all about, is finding the answers and continueing on to the next venture.
