Fun Facts

For the first time in my life this past year in 2013, I visited my home country Nigeria! If anyone knows me, they know they I love to go to amusement parks and get on roller coasters. I am the type who is terrified but will get on regardless. I am interested in learning piano so that I could say I know how to play an instrument. I am the type of person who loves to laugh about everything.

About Me

I am a senior at Temple University majoring in Early Childhood Education. I attended Neumann University before I transferred. This semester will be the time I go into Student Teaching. When I graduate in May, I hope to go into graduate school to get my masters degree in the fall. I would like to continue on in the Early Childhood Education program. From there, I hope to move to Atlanta, GA to live and teach.

When I worked the after school program, I was able to work with the students with their homework and test they had to prepare for every week. The subject areas were Phonics and reading-comprehension/pennsylvania/philadelphia">Reading Comprehension. When I was in field experience in a classroom, I had several chances of teaching students about the subject areas we focused on such as Mathematics or Reading. I have been in field experience my whole college career. Even though they were for my classes, they gave an opportunity to teach and philadelphia">tutor.

I would want to make the approach of philadelphia">tutoring much easier and fun to learn. There are so many strategies of teaching but the way that I would go is by keeping them positive and encouraging them. When i was in school, we did not get the right amount to help us be successful. There would be much guidance and independent work. I would use the "our turn, my turn, your turn" method so that they would be comfortable on doing the work on their own after we ease them from guiding to independent practice. Being there for the students would be my main priority and to keep them motivated to do better.
