Fun Facts

I am the oldest of 3 siblings. Born in New York, but raised in a small town in New Jersey. I participate in a medical mission every year. I'm a huge basketball fan...and I'm unbeaten in backgammon, because I've never played. Lastly, Game of Thrones is my favorite show right now.

About Me

I have worked both as a retail pharmacist and clinical pharmacist. I have a BA in Biology from Boston University and a PharmD from the University of Rhode Island. Throughout my life I have volunteered my time outside of my profession to mentor-ship, teaching, and medical missions. I ultimately want to return to teaching full-time once I have paid off all my school loans.

Experience

As a member of the National Honor Society in high school, I was a tutor. I also was employed as a tutor by the Whizard Academy in Edison, NJ helping high school students with SAT prep, biology, algebra, pre-calculus, calculus, geometry, trigonometry, and solving linear equations. During my undergrad, I served as a mentor and tutor for the Upward Bound program in Boston for high school students from around the Boston metro area.

Approach

My approach to teaching and tutoring has been to emphasize organizational skills and process in relation to studying habits. I believe these 2 skills, when developed, provide better academic results. In addition, I believe in guiding students to the correct answer so they are not leaning on my own understanding, but instead their own. Patience and planning is key to implementing my approach.
