Fun Facts
I’m a kid at heart which explains my ongoing list of creative ideas that never ends. Dancing is a passion of mine that allows me to express my feelings without saying a single word. Creativity is a part of my life whether it’s my hair, dance, make-up, fashion or career. So far I have learned how to hip-hop, Latin ballroom dancing, and the salsa, I am hoping to learn how to square dance soon!
About Me
I am a senior majoring in Advertising and completing a minor in Psychology at San Jose State University. I have been on the dean's list for the past 3 years and am currently on a full ride scholarship. I am also part of the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success.
Teaching as been a passion of mine every since I was in high school and was nominated to be a AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) tutor at Piedmont Hills High School. I tutored students in grades 9-12 in various subjects. After graduating high school, I decided to give back to the community by tutoring students that were in my scholarship program based at my old high school. This was a very exciting time for me because I was finally able to go back to teaching again and make a impact in other's lives. Working for Frog tutoring will allow me to relive my passion of teaching to students again as well as be able to enjoy the moments where my students finally understand the material and gain self-confidence in the new study skills that they have acquired to help them achieve success
Throughout my middle school years, I had a very difficult time learning and memorizing material for my classes. However, in high school, my scholarship mentor showed me that the key to being successful in school was not to memorize the information but to understand it. This is what I have taught my students. By understanding the material, they learned that it didn't matter whether they forgot something on the test because they understood the lessons taught by me and they were able to use that information to solve the answer to their problems. I also focus on encouraging students to think for themselves, using real world examples. This makes it easier on students to understand the material and achieve their full potential.
