Fun Facts
I have many passions but my biggest is my love for Biology. Whenever discussing Biology, a smile always shows up on my face. My dream is to be a geneticist and help find a cure for cancer. Besides Biology, I like Netflix, reading, soccer, bowling, and many other things. I’ve won many awards including a gold and a bronze medals in the National French Contest in High School.
About Me
I’m currently majoring in Biology at NJCU and and I’ve been on the Dean’s list since my first semester there. I’m trilingual: Haitian Creole, English, and French and I’m good at math. Actually, I believe that I’m good at many things because I’m a fast learner. I have that ability to catch up quickly. Also, I like to be different: I learn a lot from ohers but use what they teach me to go higher. I always like to strive. I’m currently a VP of the National Society of Leadership and Success at NJCU.
Experience
I’m currently an SI leader at my school where I tutor students in biology, chemistry and Algebra. Plus, my siblings always come to me when they need help with homework; even when I don’t know the subject they need help with sometimes, by going through their notes and asking them questions, I was able to help them remember and work on homework. Even in high school, while I was looking for help myself, I helped many of my friends who were struggling in many subjects.
Approach
As an immigrant from Haiti, my parents were not able to help me with school related issues. I was on my own with nobody to help me and that pushed me to teach myself a lot to be able to do anything but I wish I had someone to help and support me. I don’t want other students to go through that because it was a rough experience. In my sessions, I will help the students like and understand the subject better because if they understand it, they’ll remember it.
