Fun Facts

As important as academics are to me, I would not be able to enjoy any of my experiences if it weren't for my commitment to service in the community. This, especially at NYU, has helped me find an incredible group of people, and truly be able to make an impact on people's lives even outside of the college campus. Aside from that, I love music (singing specifically) and all types of dance!

About Me

I am a first-year student at NYU majoring in politics and journalism and minoring in music. I am currently on a pre-law track, and hope to one day (probably after law school) do advocacy, non-profit, or government work.

During high school, I did a lot of work at my school's Writing Center as a Student Expert, and helped students with their general English classes and essays. I also, through the National Honor Society, tutored elementary school children in all areas of study and helped them with their homework once a week. These were invaluable learning experiences not only for the students, but also for me, as there is no better way to understand concepts than to teach them. For this reason, I am excited to continue manhattan">tutoring and continue learning in the process.

I think the most successful and lasting way for any student to learn material in class and be able to use it in the future is to master the approach to any specific area of study. Helping a student figure out an answer to a question/problem or analyze a text is great, but seeing a student be able to achieve that on their own with my guidance is even better. I like to effectively focus on the methods and skills that have been causing students problems previously. I do not believe it will help the student at all if I simply figure out the problem and do their work for them, and no one will be able to get anything out of that kind of experience.
