Some of my hobbies include painting, snowboarding, and outdoor activities like hiking. I also love learning new languages and studied elementary German, French, and Latin. Additionally, I am very fluent in Tamil, an ancient South Indian language.
About Me
I received my Masters degree in Environmental & Resource Policy from The washington-university">George washington-university">Washington University located in Washington, D.C. I currently work at the U.S. EPA as a contractor. I am currently seeking positions in the private sector and have plans of pursuing an MBA.
I am currently a member of the Committee for a Better Environment, chartered by the Mayor and the Council of the City of maryland/college-park">College Park, MD. Additionally, I am also in pursuit of the LEED Green Associate accreditation.
I once volunteered to washington-dc">tutor a 3rd grade class for a day during my Freshman year at the pittsburgh">University of Pittsburgh. I also co-tutored recent immigrants during one session at Language ETC. I have also tutored children of my co-workers occasionally. While I haven't had the opportunity to devote as much time to washington-dc">tutoring as I would like, I am currently motivated to take advantage of my flexible schedule to become a washington-dc">tutor.
I first try to understand the lesson, homework, or assignment presented by the student. Then, I try to ascertain the needs of the student in terms of their understanding of the subject material. Then, I proceed to teach them methods to understand/remember/solve the "problem".
