As a member of National Honor Society, I became a washington-dc">tutor to underclassmen in my high school. I tutored multiple students on a weekly basis in the subject areas of Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Algebra II, Geometry, and French. Working personally with these students, I quickly improved their study skills and analytical skills, while helping them to form strategic plans in order to be successful in the classroom and manage their time in the most beneficial way. I thoroughly enjoy actively engaging young students and setting a foundation that will prepare them for the rest of their academic career.
As a student of 13 years and counting, I understand the struggles that learners face when pursuing school work. I believe that the most important step to success starts with improving a student's confidence towards their academic capabilities. After this, I seek to establish a plan to effectively undertake their homework. Next, I work with the student to tackle their work, asking questions to understand what specific problems or uncertainties that they face. Throughout the process, I wish to create an environment in which the student feels completely comfortable asking questions to me, their teachers, and their peers so that they can become active and engaged learners in the classroom.
