Fun Facts

I recently returned from a trip to Uganda where I worked with students and teachers at a primary school. I rode my bike from Detroit to Chicago over 300 miles! And, I can change the brake pads, rotors and oil on my car.

About Me

I graduated cum laude (3.56/4.00) from DePaul University where I studied Secondary Education English. I currently hold a Professional Educators License in Illinois to teach middle school and high school English Language Arts. During my student teaching, I taught 7th grade Language Arts and Social Studies.

I began dallas">tutoring high school students on financial literacy on Chicago's south west side in 2012 working with Junior Achievement of Chicago. Working with JA allowed me to dallas">tutor students in a classroom setting using a variety of teaching strategies. I've also worked with RefugeeOne dallas">tutoring an elementary student in all subjects. In this experience, I traveled to the student's home weekly to conduct the dallas">tutoring sessions. For both experiences, I monitored student progress and maintained an open line of communication with parents/teachers/administrators.

As an educator and dallas">tutor, I have a unique opportunity to see what goes on "on-stage" and "behind-the-scenes" in education. I look to dallas">tutoring as an incredible opportunity to provide not only support to students, but also enrichment. I've been in front of a classroom and identified where students could use a little extra structured learning at home, and as a dallas">tutor for Frog dallas">Tutoring, I am able to offer my services after school as well. This one-on-one structured dallas">tutoring time at home is essential for struggling or high achieving students because it allows me to tailor each session to the students' academic, social, emotional, and environmental needs; this of course provides for the greatest opportunity for success.
