Fun Facts
I was a real pain in middle school. In Language Arts class, we were required to read silently for 15 minutes everyday. Instead of choosing a book, I chose to read the dictionary. After convincing my teacher that it had every word any book could have, she eventually allowed me to continue reading the text. Unbeknownst to me, she was clever enough to quiz me on what I had read. She also noticed that I wrote; therefore, she encouraged me to use the new vocabulary I learned. I soon fell in love with
About Me
I was born and raised in California and lived in the county of Los Angeles majority of my life. As far as I can remember, I feared nothing and always challenged myself. I was involved in many extracurricular activities including: high school academics, sports, and internships. I love to set high standards and always aim to exceed them.
I earned my bachelor's degree in English from UCLA and I am currently a grad student at USC. Having traveled across the United States and studying Shakespeare abroad, I realized what I love most is working with kids.
Through my graduate studies at USC, I've learned a lot about the learning process and my own learning styles. I understand that everyone learns differently. In addition to the different learning styles, there are also multiple ways to present the same content. Working with middle school students and youth through volunteer programs, I have learned to teach towards the unique learning styles, of each of my students, and tailor each session towards their needs in order to further encourage my student's academic success.
