Fun Facts
One of my nerdy addictions is trivia contests! I was selected to try out for Jeopardy when I was eighteen, but the audition was to be held the day I left for college, so I had to forgo it. I also once wrote a play and had it produced--it was incredible seeing something I thought up take live-action form and entertain an audience!

I began memphis">tutoring in college when I took a class that allowed me to spend time with fourth graders at a local elementary school to help them with their homework. In graduate school, I worked as a graduate teaching assistant, helping undergraduate and graduate students improve their written assignments through The Writing Center on campus. I also served as a teaching assistant for an Early American Literature course. In between graduate school and law school, I worked as an instructor at the University of Alabama, teaching English Composition to mostly first-year students. I also worked for the Athletic Department at the University of Alabama memphis">tutoring student athletes in English Composition and Literature courses. I truly love helping others learn and develop a passion for learning!
As a teacher, I feel that it's important to explain material in a way that is accessible to the student. I feel the best way to do this is by first, getting to know the student to learn what they find important, and, then, make the material relatable to their lives. In my experience, students learn best when they actually care about and are invested in what they're learning and the work they're producing.
