Fun Facts
Because I am pursuing such a technical major in college, I surprise many people with my interest in art. I love to use drawing as a creative outlet and my notebooks are filled with doodles. I also enjoy running and I hope to someday be able to run a marathon.
About Me
I am an Engineering Physics major at Fordham University with a minor in science/new-york/new-york">Computer Science and a concentration in Premed. Last semester, made Dean's list and currently have a 3.79 cumulative GPA. In terms of extracurriculars, am a technical lead in the Engineers Without Borders club and I am learning how to conduct research using machine learning algorithms. After college, I hope to go to Medical School and pursue a career in Academic medicine and be in the vanguard of medical research.
Experience
During my senior year of High school, I tutored recent Syrian refugees in english and other high school subjects. Because of a language barrier, I had to learn how to be sensitive to the holes of their knowledge when they weren't sure what questions to ask. Additionally, I volunteered as an SAT math tutor during my freshmen year of college. I mostly taught students with limited resources and I helped them understand basic math concepts and write college essays.
Approach
I was fortunate to have a good memory, but this also caused me to grow up without needing discipline in order to succeed. However, I was under great time pressure in high school and I had to learn how to optimize my time. As a tutor, I hope to teach students how to work efficiently and stay motivated under the academic and life pressures. Additionally, I hope to make sure all of my students have a solid grasp of basic concepts so they can develop good mathematical and scientific intuition.

I have taken Physics I and II in college and received an A in both. Additionally, I received a 5 on AP Physics C mechanics and I am especially familiar with the Mechanics portion of Physics C. This semester, am a TA for Physics II lab and I have helped students with lab reports, data analysis, and calculations.

English is my second language and I was in ESL in elementary school. I also have a great deal of experience tutoring peers through my High school's club, Teens for Refugees. Most of the high schoolers learned Arabic first, and one of them only spoke Farsi.
