About Me
I am a science educator and plant evolutionary ecologist with a PhD in biology currently teaching genetics and genetics lab at Fordham University. I have been mentoring and advising students for over a decade and love working with students one-on-one. My specialities are genetics, ecology, botany, and statistics, but I would be more than happy to help in a variety of subjects related to the biological sciences.
Experience
I have worked with students of all ages in a variety of settings! I mentored a variety of students while pursuing my PhD, helped New York City high school students perform urban ecology research, and have taught college students the basic principles of genetics for seven years.
Approach
I like to approach tutoring in a way that sparks interest and curiosity. While conveying the basic principles is always important, I believe relating these principles to the students' own lives is crucial to maintaining engagement and retention. I also like to incorporate recent scientific advancements to give students an idea of how the biological sciences are always changing!
