Fun Facts

I live in New York City and love the energy of the city, but I'm originally from Colorado and also can't get enough of the outdoors and the mountains. I ski, hike, and run as much as I can. I always like to be on the move! I also enjoy yoga, traveling, languages, and new cultures.

About Me

I am a graduate student at Fordham University getting a double Master's degree in International Political Economy & Development and Economics. I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for undergraduate. I studied Global Studies and Spanish with a minor in Business.

I served as an English teacher in the Peace Corps in Mozambique for two years. I held daily tutoring sessions with my students and others on my front porch. I developed a love for teaching and kids!

Experience

Prior to moving to New York to pursue my Master's degrees, I served in the Peace Corps in Mozambique, where I worked as an English teacher for kids in 8th, 9th, and 11th grade. I taught English as a second language and tutored kids on a daily basis. I also started a community library program in my village with second graders to improve literacy rates. In college, I also worked as an after-school tutor with high-risk junior high school students. I am passionate about education.

Approach

During the Peace Corps, I placed a large emphasis on teaching study techniques. I realized that the foundation of excelling in any subject is knowing how to study and developing good study habits.
