Fun Facts
I am the older of two daughters, and while we fall on different sides of the cat vs dog argument, we love talking about random things and laughing about our occasional ridiculousness. I absolutely adore singing along to songs but unfortunately am QUITE tone-deaf. Reading is one of my main hobbies, and I'm always up for a book recommendation! I ran competitively in college for a couple years, but now I just appreciate the sport on my own time and use running as the perfect excuse to explore.
About Me
I am a third-year Biology major at the University of Georgia! I love children, animals, being outside, and helping whenever I can. My academic focus is on neuroscience, but I have always enjoyed learning in general and want to help other people enjoy it too! In fact, those traits have led me to want to pursue a PhD in Neuroscience and then one day become a college professor so that I am able to conduct my own research and continue learning throughout my life.
Experience
Throughout high school, I often tutored friends and their siblings in various subjects. I was most consistent with tutoring when I signed up for an in-school program that connected students during their lunch periods to assist in the learning process. Once I got to college, I was a part of a student-athlete program that allowed me to work in a second-grade classroom each Monday morning. I am excited to get the opportunity to continue to share my enthusiasm for learning through Frog Tutoring!
Approach
Growing up, it quickly became clear to me that school was significantly more fun when I had a great teacher and/or I loved the subject. I want more children to wake up excited to go to school and confident in their ability to master new material, no matter how daunting it may seem at first glance. There is an indescribable feeling of joy and pride when a difficult concept is finally grasped, and I wholeheartedly believe that that sensation should be experienced by as many people as possible.
