Fun Facts
I have a wide variety of hobbies and passions; some of my greatest interests include classic movies/films, music, and the outdoors. I have a twin sister and have lived in Ohio, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and now Washington D.C. I also love animals, especially my two dogs, Cooper and Bridgette!
About Me
I am a recent honors graduate from the University of Michigan's department of Ecology, Evolution, and Biodiversity. While in my undergrad, I also completed extensive coursework in Latin and Music, including three years as a member of the Michigan Marching Band.I hope to attend the maryland">University of Maryland for graduate school in 2020 and ultimately become a professor at an accredited university.
Experience
While I was in high school, I had the wonderful experience of working as a teacher's assistant for a 6th grade science class in addition to assisting the school's band program on a weekly basis. When I entered college, I continued with my passion of helping others learn by regularly tutoring my peers and organizing group study guides and review sessions for my classmates. I am eager to continue helping others learn in this next chapter of my life!
Approach
While I was a teacher's assistant, I conducted a research project on the learning styles of a sixth grade science class and concluded that differences in learning styles must be thoroughly understood and addressed in order to teach effectively. I have applied these findings to my tutoring ever since and approach each student on an individual basis with an emphasis on knowing each student personally, with special consideration given to learning styles and cultural differences.

My program required a thorough understanding of statistical analysis and hypothesis testing, including the completion of an advanced statistics course. I am comfortable tutoring students at all levels of statistical proficiency.
Environmental Science Tutoring
I am an Honors graduate from the University of Michigan department of Ecology, Evolution, and Biodiversity. Through the program's curriculum, I have studied many aspects of environmental science, including environmental geology, environmental ethics, and conservation ecology. I have experience tutoring my peers in all of these areas and more and am comfortable tutoring students of all levels of mastery.
Latin Tutoring
I have been learning Latin since the eighth grade and have pursued it to the highest level. In addition to excelling in multiple post-AP Latin classes in high school, I have also successfully completed multiple college-level Latin courses, including experience with the works of Virgil and Caesar, post-classical Latin, and Roman comedy. I have a wealth of experience tutoring my peers at all levels of the language learning process and am comfortable tutoring any kind of student.
Music Theory Tutoring
As a trombone player, I have over ten years of experience reading, performing, and understanding music. In addition, I have taken music theory courses at the collegiate level and excelled in them. Furthermore, I studied improvisation in one-on-one lessons with jazz professors at the University of Michigan. I am able to tutor beginner and intermediate level students.

I have studied under many illustrious trombonists, including Dennis Wilson, jazz trombone professor at the University of Michigan. In addition, I have experience teaching trombone at a variety of levels, ranging from beginners up through the college level.
