Fun Facts
One of my favorite things to do is tap dance! I have been dancing since I was six years old and it is one of my most favorite things to do. Tap is my favorite style of dance because it's like playing the drums but with your feet. During the summer, I teach breadmaking and baking skills to kids. My favorite thing to teach kids how to make is pizza.
About Me
I am a sophomore at New York University who is majoring in English and minoring in Communications. At NYU I am a member of the University Choral and I was a Welcome Week Leader. In the future, I hope to attend law school and become an attorney.
Experience
I tutored a number of students while I was a member of my school's chapter of the National Honor's Society. During my senior year of high school, I interned at the elementary school I went to when I was a kid. While at the elementary school, I helped the teacher with various administrative tasks, assisted the kids in the writing of their own 'book', and guided kids through their daily classroom work. Last summer, I was a summer camp counselor. I taught kids how to create different baked goods.
Approach
My band conductor, who was one of my favorite teachers, once said, "Practice makes permanent". That phrase guides how I learn still to this day. Moreover, it is a framework that I use to help students learn. Intentional repetition of skills really helps a student hone any skills they want to develop.

Communication Tutoring
I received the highest grade (an A) in both my Introduction to Media Studies course and my History of Media and Communications course. In these courses, we studied various ways in which information is mediated in their respective context. I am currently minoring in Communications.

I received the highest grade possible (an A) in my Introduction to Literature class. I am continuing my studies in English with a course on Medieval Literature and a course on Modern Literature. When I tutored during high school, this was the subject I helped kids out with the most.

Last semester I took Intermediate French I and received a B. I am currently in Intermediate French II, therefore I have complete comprehension of French II. Throughout high school, I earned an A- in French.

I received the highest grade possible (an A) in my Introduction to Literature class. This class was a survey of various types of Literature in various styles of writing. I am continuing my studies in English with a course on Medieval Literature and a course on Modern Literature.
Writing Tutoring
I received an A- in my prerequisite Writing the Essay class for college. In this course, we read seminal essays by the likes of Sontag, Berger, and Plato. I have helped friends of mine with their papers in terms of structuring an argument and organizing their papers.
Writing Advance Tutoring
In a course called "Advanced College Essay", I received the highest grade possible (an A). In this course, we studied, long-form essays, cinema, and other forms of writing to deepen our understanding of various philosophical, political, and cultural concepts. I have helped friends of mine with their papers in terms of structuring an argument and organizing their papers.
AP English Tutoring
I took AP Language and Composition for my Junior year in high school. I received a 5 on the AP exam. In this course, we studied various ways to dissect and create literary arguments through logical appeals and literary devices.
French Tutoring
From middle school to high, I took French I-V. I received an average of an A- in all of my French courses. I am currently taking my second semester of French at college.
Homework Coach Tutoring
While tutoring under the NHS, I helped younger students to organize their homework and develop useful study skills. I emphasized the use of different mnemonic devices and the use of a planner.

Elementary Math Tutoring
My highest level of math was AP Calculus AB, which was a very rigorous math course. During I high I was in Honors Geometry and Honor's Precalculus, and Algebra II. I believe that these classes have demonstrated that I have a comprehension in math to assist an elementary school student.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
I received a 5 on the AP Language and Composition Exam. This exam includes a rigorous reading comprehension section. This text and my past grades in other English classes have suited me well to teach reading comprehension.
Science Tutoring
During high school, I took Physics, Honors Chemistry, and Honors Biology, receiving an average of an A- in these classes. In middle school, I took General Physical Science classes. I believe that these classes have demonstrated that I have a comprehension in math to assist an elementary school student.
Social Studies Tutoring
In high school, I took World History, Honors European History, and AP United States History. I received a 4 on the AP United States History Exam. I believe that these classes have demonstrated that I have a comprehension in math to assist an elementary school student.
