Fun Facts
At a very young age I excelled in my academics. After skipping the eighth grade, I entered a medically focused academy and completed high school in three years. I graduated early and participated in the early admission program at a local state college. I love anime and am an avid watcher. I enjoy reading and listening to music. I love being in the water, so beach days are some of my favorite days.
About Me
I am a senior majoring in Psychology with a focus in Experimental Behavior Analysis at Florida International University. Once I graduate, I intend to sit for the BCaBA board examination and eventually go on to obtain my Ph.D. I'm currently an active undergraduate member of a Divine Nine sorority, whose focus is youth development and the enhancement of woman in the community and globally. Through my organization, I have been able to organize, engage, and facilitate youth educational programs.
Experience
Previously I was employed as an America Reads tutor, serving the Miami-Dade school district as a role model and tutor for first grade students helping to increase their reading proficiency skills. Prior to that, I was a teacher's assistant for the Children Creative Learning Center at Florida International University for the Pre-K age group. In this role, I assisted the teacher in planning activities for the children as well as facilitating classroom and outdoor activities on my own.
Approach
The structure of the education system is so rigid that is doesn't cater to the needs of all students. My tutoring approach varies on a case by case basis, depending on the needs of the student. Utilizing different technologies, such as YouTube; repetition; and reinforcement through interactive activities. Most students focus on learning a particular problem they will need to regurgitate or learning enough for the test, but rather I focus on understanding the concept so it can be more applicable.

Microsoft Excel Tutoring
I began using Microsoft in middle school through a computer course I took. The content of the course taught how to use the program and the variety of the features. I still use Microsoft Excel on a daily basis for my current job to manage the office's statistics.
Biology AP Tutoring

Biology I. I took Biology I my freshman year of college and earned a "B" in the course. The corresponding lab I received a "B" as well.
