Fun Facts
I absolutely love the game of lacrosse. I have been playing lacrosse for the past 7 years
and I still think it is the best! I personally love going to the gym and working out as well.
Another one of my hobbies is aviation; anything related to flying, mechanically and physically,
I have a keen interest in. I also enjoy things that are thrilling, such as sky diving, rock climbing, white water rafting, and bungee jumping.
About Me
I was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. My entire family moved to America in 2000 when I
was about 10 years old. I speak multiple languages due to my upbringing in Kenya. After I moved, I started going to school and graduated from Delcastle Technical High School. Ever since I was younger I have always aspired to help people. This goal in mind, I plan on graduating from Temple University with my undergraduate degree in biochemistry and minor in journalism. After graduating I want to attend medical school and become an oncologist, where I would gain hands on experience helping people.
Personally being a Hindu I go to the local BAPS Temple every week where I am responsible for teaching children ages 3-21. I have always helped them with their homework or subjects they were unfamiliar with. I have done this for the past 6 years.
I believe everyone has their own special method for learning. I like to figure out the individual learning patterns of my students and teach them in a manner in which they can easily retain information and gain confidence; helping them along the way while making sure they figure things out as we progress. I also like to teach ahead of the class. This helps the student acclimate to the new information. I also believe practicing and reviewing new information is very helpful in helping with retention. Building confidence in a student will also help the student perform better.
