About Me
I'm a recent graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. NYU was generous in covering almost half of my tuition as a reward for my talents in the dramatic arts as well as my academic achievements in high school. While performing in a variety of Tisch productions, I maintained a 3.64 GPA and was awarded the coveted Artist and Scholar Award from the Drama Department in 2013. Today I am a thriving NYC film actress with a growing resume of indie features that will be coming out in the next few years.
In high school, I made a little extra money by tutoring some of my neighborhood friends and their siblings in subjects ranging from the sciences to literature to vocal technique. My friend’s parents trusted me as a “study buddy” because of my perfect 4.0 GPA and my terrific AP scores. At Tisch, I often tutored my fellow classmates in our speech curriculum, helping them to master transcription of the International Phonetic Alphabet and to put the alphabet into practice as they learned dialects such as dublin">Dublin Irish, Cockney, and even Zulu South African. Though this tutoring experience is unconventional, it allowed me to keep my tutoring skills sharp and has prepared me to continue tutoring subjects in which I excel.
My grandmother was a brilliant educator who, on more than one occasion, replaced the children’s books on my shelves with the likes of Shakespeare, Poe, and Steinbeck. While I may have been a little young for Titus Andronicus, she instilled in me a flair for the dramatic and a love for academic pursuits. The secret to my success as a student was my ability to find some aspect of each subject inspiring, and to hold on to that inspiration when the subject became frustrating. As a tutor, I live for the moment when I can help a student make a breakthrough and discover that every subject has its flashes of excitement.
