Fun Facts

I find great joy in going to local coffee shops. Whenever I am in a new area or am exploring the current one that I live in, I find myself wanting to explore a new coffee shop to go to. There is something so pleasant about actually going out and getting a coffee or latte than making it at home. I try my best to make them at home as well, and I even bought a high quality espresso machine to achieve this!

About Me

I am a graduate from Loyola Marymount University, which is a private college in Los Angeles. I worked in the corporate world immediately after graduating, but realized I wanted to do something more and to be able to work for myself. That is when I realized how much I truly love tutoring. I like to call it my "forever career" because I know I will be working as a tutor for a long time.
I recently moved to Colorado, so I am in the process of getting acquainted with students in the area.

Experience

When I had realized that I wanted to be a tutor, I already had a side job tutoring in high school geometry and trigonometry. From there, I got involved with several tutoring platforms and started receiving students who needed help in multiple subjects. I have even taught ESL, which I find now a subject I love to teach. I have only been tutoring for less than a year, but I found myself a natural at this since the beginning. I cannot wait to share my knowledge with other students!

Approach

My approach is different for each student based on their needs. Some students learn at a slower pace, others learn fast. The most important idea is that students are benefitting from my technique and are being honest. Students should never feel embarrassed to say "I'm confused" or "I still don't get it". That is ok! We have all been in a place of confusion before and that is why adaptation is key. Being able to assess my students' needs is the most important first step for me.

Pre Calculus Tutoring

Anyone that knows me knows that math is my favorite subject. Something about foreseeing how to solve the problem and then executing it on paper, to then find the solution is so incredibly satisfying. Reading Comprehension Tutoring

Reading comprehension doesn't come easy for a lot of people. There was a time where I struggled with this. Study Skills Tutoring

I have a lot of techniques for studying. I have taken various tests throughout my education on so many different subjects. I have learned a lot from taking these tests and how important it is to know how to study for them. Some tests look for strategy, while others test your knowledge of the subject. Nonetheless, there are ways to plan in advance so that students can succeed on any test and actually feel that they tried their best to prepare. I want to help students to learn the most efficient way to study.
