Fun Facts

No matter what, I will always love animals and nature. I've been to ten countries and love to travel. I also enjoy drawing, piano, and learning a few languages from time to time.
Learning more about the world is my #1 mission.

About Me

Recent math grad, currently a paralegal assistant at Barry & Co. Law Firm.
B.S. in mathematics (GPA 3.7) from the University of New Orleans as of May 2019.
Strong love for writing and critical thinking. Previously Editor-in-Chief of the university newspaper.

Experience

In addition to my work at the law firm, I currently also work with girls ages 1-10 at the Academy of the Sacred Heart's after-school program, keeping them engaged in safe play.
Running my university's newspaper was a full-time job, where I coordinated our business concerns and the full production process, from coaching team to create memorable articles to getting a great design to our printer.
I have an ACT English score of 36 and a strong acuity for the structure and nuance of language.

Approach

I've spent a lot of time in math courses being taught by brilliant professors who struggle to explain the subject matter to newcomers. I am convinced that it is not intelligence but adaptability that makes a strong tutor. An effective lesson is one in which the tutor is ready to keep searching for the explanation that works for the student until the student understands the material. Here, my resourcefulness will aid in giving examples and clearly discussing the context of the subject at hand.
