Fun Facts

- Huge math guy. When my classmates and I wanted a break during our Mechanical Engineering undergrad, we would do a little math game that would count how many you questions you could answer correctly in one minute.
- Biggest soccer nerd you will ever meet. I have played since I was 5, and am a huge fan of the professional game. Big fan of Real Madrid and Manchester United.
- I have three brothers, and no sisters. I am the second oldest.
- I am from Tucson, AZ, but just moved to Austin, TX

About Me

Graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at University of Arizona. I had a 3.5 GPA. During our senior design project (all engineering majors have to do this their senior year of college) I was awarded one of only 2 individual awards (for over 400 students!) by receiving the Fish Out of Water Award. This award is given to the individual who learned material outside of their field of study in order to make a great contribution to the success of the team.

Experience

I don't have any official tutoring experience, but I practically tutored my classmates on material from our courses my entire time in college. I have always naturally picked up on subjects (especially math and physics) much faster than others. Where I would understand the material after the lecture in a class, all of my classmates would come to me because they took a bunch of notes they didn't understand. I essentially ran study sessions before tests to help out my friends.

Approach

Throughout college, I was a server at at a restaurant, and didn't think the skill set that I would acquire serving would help me in my career. However, talking to people every day as a job helped to develop my communication skills greatly, which can be used in all aspects of life. I would say that I possess a unique blend of talents, as STEM grads don't exactly have the best way with words. I am always able to rephrase an explanation if the person I'm tutoring is having a hard time understanding

Calculus I Tutoring

Took the AP test for Calc I in high school. Passed with a 5. The subject naturally came to me and I would end up using basic calculus throughout my undergraduate degree. Integrals, Derivatives, maxes and mins, optimization, etc.

Calculus 2 Tutoring

Took the AP test for Calc II in high school and passed with a 5. Much like Calc I, the subject came naturally to me. I would often use calculus in my Mechanical Engineering undergrad, keeping my calculus skills fresh. Integration by parts, LRAM, RRAM, trapezoidal methods, Polar coordinates, etc.

College Algebra Tutoring

Tutored many friends through this class. When I played soccer, I would meet up with 5 of my teammates who were in this class to help them learn the subject material. Whether it's the quadratic formula, equations of parabolas, or logarithms, I'm your guy.

Mechanical Engineering Tutoring

This was my major, where I achieved a 3.5 GPA. Especially knowledgeable in Statics, Dynamics, and related physics courses. Also has knowledge of Circuits, Electricity and Magnetism, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, and Vibrations.

Math Tutoring

Pretty much a sum of all the other math topics on this list. But at it's core, I excel at basic math operations. To the point where I can do many different operations of complicated numbers in my head.

Physics Tutoring

As a Mechanical Engineering major, physics was at the forefront of almost all classes. Whether it is basic projectile motion and kinetics, or complicated multidimensional force analysis, I am a great resource for the topic of physics. Especially high school physics.

SAT Math Tutoring

Almost received a perfect score on the math section of the SAT. SAT math is really just a combination of all the other subjects, i.e. algebra, stats, trigonometry, etc.

Middle School Math Tutoring

Expert in basic math operations, even know many tricks to do this operations faster or in your head. Can teach order of operations, basic algebra, graphs, equations, etc.

Elementary Math Tutoring

Whatever math is in elementary school, Im sure I could do it with my eyes closed. Also, I used to coach little kids in soccer so I know how to interact and reach young kids if that is the audience I will be tutoring.

Microsoft Excel Tutoring

I would use Excel during my Undergraduate degree every single day. Whether it was plotting data, calculating many equations simultaneously, or graphing functions, Excel was a mainstay during college. I even helped my mom complete her online Microsoft Office class.

Microsoft Word Tutoring

I used Microsoft Word almost as much as Excel during my undergrad. I would have lab reports due weekly, which were always written in Word. I also would write various resumes on Word, depending on the position I was applying for. Used this application all the time and I still do even after graduation.
