About Me
I am a senior at Rutgers University. I was born in Colombia, and moved to the United States when I was 3 years told. My goal is to become a doctor. I aspire to attend New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey.
Experience
I am currently a teaching intern and a learning assistant for Organic Chemistry at Rutgers University. For my Spanish experience, I currently am an interpreter at Eric B. Chandler health clinic in brunswick">New Brunswick, where I facilitate patient visits. I also work at brunswick">New Brunswick high school as an AVID tutor, where I help the students with any subjects that they may be struggling with.
Approach
Growing up, I believed that the traditional " the teacher instructed and students followed", approach to education was best. As I taught for Rutgers University, and learned about the philosophy of teaching, I realized that a social constructive approach to teaching may work best for long term, and deep understanding. My current approach is to not simply " tell" the students what the answer is, but instead be a facilitator in their learning through discursive movements.

Biochemistry Tutoring
Biochemistry Grade: A
This is a class for graduate students, however I took this class as an undergraduate. As a cell biology and neuroscience major I have a deep understanding of how the mechanisms of a cell work, and as an organic chemistry teacher I also have a deep understanding of how molecules interact. Biochemistry is basically a combination of these two fields and therefore I am very confident in my Biochemsitry knowledge and ability to tutor for the subject.
