Fun Facts

I love Football, mostly watching NFL but in all of its forms. IN High School, my older brother was a track and cross country person, I wen tout for the football team. My running joke for years is that he liked running by people, I enjoyed running through them. I was born and raised in central CT but left for a few years for undergraduate studies. So I'm wickedly used to the slang.

About Me

In high school I made honor role every quarter (a few times High honors) and graduated with honors as member of the national honors society. I went to get my bachelor of science in Mathematics at Penn State. I did that in 4 years and then took a 'year off' living in that city and working several jobs. I then went to graduate school for Mathematics at UCONN, first with the Master of Science program and then the PhD which I completed in August of 2009.

Experience

Aside from being a full time TA in graduate school (we regularly ran our own course(s)), I also worked several summers for the department teaching summer sessions, tutoring or teaching for the CAP (TRIO) program, and one summer semester teaching science/connecticut/hamden">Computer Science for the Bridge program for the school of Engineering. Since graduate school I have taught at 4 different CT universities and one in MA as well. I have taught the full spectrum of Freshman and Sophomore Mathematics with few exceptions.

Approach

Math is mostly a set of rules set by nature. Not some laws set in place by man. Rules are absolute and once mastered, always apply without prejudice. Learning these rules is a process of practice and even more practice.
