Fun Facts
Other than math I have a deep passion for the game of basketball. I am currently coaching a youth traveling basketball team full of young eager players who have the same love for the game as do I.
About Me
I am currently a Middle School Math teacher. I attended the connecticut">University of Connecticut where I received a dual degree in Mathematics and Education. I later furthered my education at the connecticut">University of Connecticut and received my Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
Experience
I have been teaching a little over 5 years, and I had the opportunity to work with children ranging from the High School level to Middle School level. During my educational experience at UConn have been immersed in a wide range of economic differences. Ranging from rural, urban, and suburban settings, I believe this has made me a better educator and allows me the ability to connect with children from all over.
Approach
Retention is my biggest motivation factor, how well will our young ones remember what you taught them once they are no longer in your presence. This is a unique situation I find my self constantly working to get better at. Sooo one thing I found very helpful is a more practical approach, in the mathematical realm, the more practice you have the better you become. Also, a more project based approach, allowing our learners to apply math to situations they never knew to be possible.
