Fun Facts

I am a first degree black belt, though I haven't practiced tae kwon do since high school! I spent most of my high schools days in the theatre, acting and singing and sometimes dancing around to various musicals such as Grease, Annie, Oklahoma, Guys and Dolls, and more! I have one brother. I'm very active in my church, and my husband and I love animals. I walk dogs and pet sit for my main source of income, and it's so much fun!

About Me

I am an almost-graduate of Grand Canyon University in Business Management. I went on campus for a while but now go online. I only have two more classes before I graduate, yay! I have played piano since I was six. I play regularly on the worship team at my church and I also sing. My goal is to own my own business and work for myself.

Experience

Though I am just starting out teaching piano, I have babysat kids of all ages since I was fourteen. I consider myself very good with kids because I am empathetic and understanding, I try to get on their level. As I said before, I've played classical and worship style piano, and have knowledge of music theory as well. I believe the piano is the foundational instrument on which all other instruments can rest on. If you learn the piano, you will have a much easier time learning other instruments.

Approach

When I was younger, the piano was my safe haven. It was what I went to when I was upset, I thoroughly enjoyed playing because of the passion instilled in me from my family and my teachers. I want to instill that passion into my students, to see that the piano is a canvas to be painted on and they are the artist, ready to learn and paint their music all over the place.
