Fun Facts

I am a recent graduate of California State University in Sacramento. I majored in Child Development because that is a crucial period for children to progress toward and reach for their highest potential in any goal that they choose for themselves. I am a volunteer sacramento">tutor for the Roseville and Sacramento library systems because I like to support adults to improve their reading and writing skills. I have been volunteering for their literacy programs for approximately two years.

About Me

I was a real estate broker and managed an office which specialized in selling repossessed homes in Southern California. I moved to Sacramento approximately twelve years ago. I decided to switch my career goals and focus more on education. I started attending classes full time to complete my bachelor's degree in Child Development. I volunteered at the college and university child development centers to gain classroom experience and complete coursework toward my degree. I also worked as a substitute instructional assistant for the local school district also to gain classroom experience. I supported classroom activities, projects, homework, grading, and other duties as assigned in education/california/sacramento">special education classes and mainstream classes.

Since moving to Sacramento, I have worked in several real estate offices and temporary positions in insurance offices and retail. I am currently seeking a position as a preschool instructor or administrator. My years as working as a real estate broker improved my interpersonal skills, particularly in relating to diverse challenges that individuals and families confront at particular instances. While couples were readying themselves to purchase their first homes, many of them were attempting to satisfy the requirements of many agencies while meeting personal needs. I was able to realize their challenges, and contributed my expertise to ease the home purchasing process, as the steps toward purchasing such a large investment can be tedious and involved.

I have recently completed a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Child Development from Sacramento State University. I have also completed an Associate of Arts degree majoring in General Business and an Associate of Arts degree majoring in Early Childhood Education from American River College.

I am currently a substitute education/california/sacramento">special education instructional assistant and substitute early childhood education assistant

I have also volunteered as an adult literacy educator for the Sacramento Public library and the Roseville Public library systems

Approach

I was a education/california/sacramento">special education student throughout my elementary, high school, and college years

I will bring the perspective of being a education/california/sacramento">special education student and all the challenges which I confronted and overcame. I will be able to impart that knowledge to my learner.
