Fun Facts
I love spending time outside and at the beach! I also absolutely love learning new languages (currently I know Hebrew, Spanish, and some Dyula) and hope to tackle a new language soon!
About Me
I am a senior at Columbia University studying Linguistics and Anthropology! I have made the Dean's List every semester so far and have a 4.1 GPA. When I graduate at the end of next year, I plan to attend Law school and become a practicing lawyer.
Experience
I have experience both as a language teacher for students K-8 and a high school tutor. As a tutor for the Columbia Tutoring and Learning Center, I work with students both in person and remotely 3-4 times a week in high school level math courses! As a language teacher, I have experience tutoring students in Spanish and Hebrew (reading/decoding, aleph-bet recognition, and modern Hebrew). Additionally, I will also be a TA for a class at Columbia University in the coming fall.
Approach
I approach tutoring through the practice of growth mindset, or the idea that anyone is capable of learning and improving in any subject area with practice and the right attitude. My aim is to teach and reinforce content in such a way that they eventually feel confident that they can tackle it alone. This means teaching not only the content, but strategies to remember and study concepts, practice which requires students to synthesize old and new ideas, and test taking tips and tricks!
