Fun Facts
One thing that surprises people is that I love to sew. I alter clothes that I thrift and make plushies for my friends. I also like to take dance classes when I have time. I wish that I will be able to take more classes once I have free time.
About Me
I am a junior majoring in science/new-york/new-york">Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics at New York University. As well as academics, I like to devote my time to service as well. I am currently the vice president of Fellowship in Alpha Phi Omega, a national co-ed service fraternity. Though I do not know what I want to do once I graduate, I do want to retire into teaching at an elementary school one day.
Experience
I have always loved tutoring children. During the last two summers, I worked at a summer program which prepared students for their upcoming years. There I taught math to elementary and middle school students and held a science club where I taught some basics of biology and chemistry. During my last two school years, I worked with America Reads and worked as an America Reads Tutor in an Elementary school.
Approach
As a student, I have always struggled with the vocabulary in math and got confused by some of the topics. After getting close help from tutors and teachers, I have learned to love and appreciate math. Through my experience with math, I believe that I can help students learn math less through its mechanics and memorization, but more conceptually and become more interested in learning.

Algebra Tutoring
Algebra was my best topic in math in middle school. I believe that since I understood the concepts the best in this topic, I will be qualified to tutor this to other students.
Algebra II Tutoring
Algebra II was one of the harder courses I took in high school, but I loved it and ended up getting the highest score on the final in all of my teacher's classes. I also helped my friends in this class, which gives me a bit of experience tutoring.
Calculus Tutoring
I have taken Calculus in high school as well as in college and got an A- in the course. I believe that I am readily prepared to tutor this topic because of my two years studying it.
Math Tutoring
I was a math major before switching it into a minor and have taken Calc I, II, and III in college. I have the most experience tutoring math to students above all other subjects as well.
Pre Algebra Tutoring
In middle school, I was given the opportunity to skip this course because I took a test to skip it. However, I took this course and because I did, I think that I have more knowledge in it and thus would be able to teach another student.
Homework Coach Tutoring
I have worked at a homework helping center and helped middle school students with their homework. Not to mention, I have a younger sister and have helped her with her homework multiple times.
