Although I'm a proud Brooklynite, my curiosity and adventurous nature led me to explore outside New York City. I love to see new things and travel to new places. Being open to traveling exposed me to different cultures and countries. Simultaneously, traveling has given me an opportunity to learn new things about myself and what I can imagine.

About Me

I'm a recent graduate from the University of Southern California. I completed a M.Ed., in Postsecondary Administration & Student Affairs. My degree was a labor of love in helping me uncover my passion for higher education and student development. My time at USC also introduced me to new passions like journalism. Together, I plan to combine my love for learning and media to engage audiences in a refreshing way.

Experience

At UCLA, I was an academic mentor to student athletes for two years followed by one year with USC athletics. I assisted over a dozen freshman and at-risk student athletes develop academic identities and utilize strategies that impact their individual performance. I created individualized learning plans based on students' strengths and areas of growth. I've learned how to manage expectations and support students at various levels or preparedness.

Approach

I always loved learning and had an ability to teach others. At a very early age I was aware of how differently people learn because of my brother. I realized that poor performance is not always a result of lack of effort. Sometimes students are in learning environments that do not support their style of learning. As a tutor, I incorporate this idea to my approach in helping students discover the best way they learn and providing tools that support their growth.
