Fun Facts
I love sports and have been the captain of the varsity men’s volleyball, basketball, and cross country teams. I have always loved math and the sciences because I feel like there is always a right and wrong answer, and for me it is invigorating to discover the right answer. I also have always loved breaking apart equations to understand what is going on and the why behind an answer.
About Me
I am a freshman at UCSB and am studying Marine Bio Pharmacology. I took AP exams since eighth grade. I have a passion for biology, and everything math related. In high school, I have a 3.98 weighted GPA.
I have tutored high schoolers, middle schoolers, and elementary schoolers. I have tutoring experience for AP subjects as well as base courses. I have worked with teachers to developed curriculums for different students based on their needs.
I will show the student how to do a problem. I will then have the student explain the problem. Then I will have the student attempt the problem.
Experience
I have taken 13 AP exams and have gotten 4s and 5s on all my math, and science AP’s. I have tutored friends and family, and love helping kids learn. I also have experience with older kids aswell as younger kids.
Approach
I start with showing them how to do the problem, then I have them explain how I did the problem. After they explain the problem and solution correctly I will have them attempt to do the problem. This process allowed me to learn how to do complex calculus problems and understand how to do the problem rather than memorizing the answers.
