Fun Facts
I am bilingual, immigrated to the US at the age of 9 and lived in NC for over 10 years. I like to write poetry, play the guitar, dance, cook international food and travel all over the world. I love meeting different people and cultures and I am open to new experiences. My goal in life is to learn all about life and teach others, I am fascinated by the exchange of knowledge between humans.
About Me
I am a junior at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. I am majoring in management and finance, my current GPA is 3.13. I am a member of various organizations on campus: Alpha Beta SI, Forensics Team and Amnesty International. I started my own dance club, trained and performed various shows and donated the money to Children hospitals. I volunteer at various locations off-campus: hospitals, libraries and refugee organizations. I received many awards and recognition for my volunteer work.
After becoming fluent in English, I started charlotte">tutoring my younger siblings and helping them with homework assignments. In high school, I volunteered at various refugee organizations, public libraries and the international house in charlotte">tutoring ESL learners, as well as helping out school teachers with after-school activities for elementary school kids. During the second semester of my freshmen year in college, I was recommended to charlotte">tutor English at the writing resource center at UNCC. This experience tremendously improved my charlotte">tutoring skills as well as increased my passion for teaching and helping other students. I have been charlotte">tutoring at the center for about two years now, and I am love every minute of it, I was also recommended by the center for private charlotte">tutoring and highly succeeded in it.
When I charlotte">tutor any subject and English in particular, I do not see myself as solely a charlotte">tutor. I view myself as a coach, friend, motivator and someone who can make a real difference in the life of a student. I believe every student has potential and skills, however, some students only require a little more guidance and motivation by a charlotte">tutor. My charlotte">tutoring philosophy focuses on developing a very organized and specific strategy that meets the needs of every individual student. I try to tailor my approach to fit different students, because I believe different people learn in many different ways.
