Fun Facts

Something that people quickly learn about me is my unconditional love for anything Disney. You can ask me almost anything about the parks and/or movies and I will most likely know the answer. Although I no longer have an annual pass, I have had one in the past and I would go at least twice a month. I also really enjoy dancing! Although I am not the best at it, you will always see me dancing.

About Me

I am a junior, mechanical engineering student at CSU Los Angeles. I have been at CSULA for one year after transferring from UC Santa Barbara. My hopes are to graduate college and attend graduate school in Materials Science. I plan to apply to a doctorate program in hopes of continuing my passion in the field of research. After graduate school I plan to begin my career in the engineering industry.

Throughout my high school years I was a part of a community program that helped make the city a better place for the youth. I would provide tutoring and homework help to elementary, middle, and high school students at a local teen center on the weekends. We also provided field trips to local colleges. During college I have been very involved in engineering organizations that help underrepresented students achieve. Through this program I would tutor college students who needed help in engineering courses I had already taken during the organization's weekly study hours. I hope to keep helping students achieve academically through the Frog Tutoring Program.

My ultimate goal is to help students really learn the material instead of getting a quick answer. I think asking the students questions helps them learn how to think critically and get to the answer. But more importantly than the answer is gaining the skills and knowledge necessary to be able to solve a problem, that is similar, on their own when confronted with it again. I also like to incorporate real-world examples to the problems to help students better understand its context. A math problem always seems easier to understand when you can relate to something you have at home. I always stay positive and I encourage the students to stay positive as well. Especially when attempting to learn something new, because once they know the material it will be rewarding for them.
