A passion of mine for years is photography! I have been learning the art of Digital Single Lens Reflex Cameras (DSLR) for approximately 7 years, studying at local universities and on my own time. when I am not taking pictures, I am rooting on the Atlanta Braves!

About Me

Originally from western New York, I moved to Atlanta 2 years prior. I have received my teaching certificate through New York state at SUNY Cortland. Since my relocation to the south, I am finishing my masters in secondary education-social studies. I have worked with a plethora of students (3rd grade-12th grade) from economic situations, cultural, and learning backgrounds.

My student teaching experience consisted of teaching a senior level Participation in Government class & freshman World History class. I took full responsibility of the teacher role to provide daily and weekly lessons, student group work, assessment, and professional development. I taught to multicultural students 1 mile from a Native American reservation, with mindful consideration to many customs and considerations for religious rites. I created a student-focused environment to engage student participation in lesson and develop communication skills, peer relationships, and self-esteem building. I had to develop student final projects on public policy issues and Document Based Questions (DBQ). Students worked to utilize communication tactics in debate setting about current issues and Supreme Court cases for Participation in Government. Additionally, tutored students after class for additional learning.

I have prior experience in atlanta">tutoring as an AVID atlanta">tutor. An AVID atlanta">tutor assists students towards college preparation, centered primarily in urban schools. AVID atlanta">tutoring focuses on SAT preparation in 5-10 student sized classes. In addition, I have experience as a teacher assistant for an after school day-care program with school age children. Duties consisted of creating multiple activities that ranged from physical, creative, cultural, and musical.
