Fun Facts
One fun fact is that I am happiest when I am outdoors. I love backpacking, biking, and any excuse to get into nature. I also danced ballet for over 15 years, and still enjoy taking the occasional class or two. My current project is getting my official yoga teacher certification, and my favorite type is vinyasa!
About Me
I am senior attending the University of New Mexico and the ultimate science nerd! My major is biochemistry with a minor in the university's honors program. I am on track to graduate magna cum laude with a 3.7+ in May of 2020, and have consistently made Dean's List since entering college. Currently, I am in the process of applying to medical schools to fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a pediatrician.
Experience
I have been involved in some form of tutoring since my sophomore year of high school. As student body president my senior year, I founded an after-school help club for students to have the opportunity to ask questions, clarify topics, or just have a place to finish homework. Since college, I have worked with the same students and have found great joy in seeing their progress.
Approach
It has been my personal experience that all students benefit greatly from a kind and supportive learning environment. By establishing a relationship based on warmth and trust, they are comfortable to ask me questions, struggle, and truly learn. However, establishing that trust and connection is not to say that I won't push a student when I know they are capable!
