Fun Facts

I spent much of my childhood learning numerous art forms such as classical dance, piano, vocal music and visual arts. In highschool, I was involved in community service leadership and participating in various STEM academic clubs and teams. I am the National Youth Coordinator for Ekam USA health non-profit, where I discovered a love for event management and working with clinical and non-clinical community to help improve access to quality healthcare resources. I also took Spanish for five years.

About Me

I am a sophomore Biology major and Spanish and Hispanic Studies minor at The University of Texas at Dallas. My ultimate goal is to practice medicine as a cardiologist. I work in a Molecular Biology Cancer laboratory at UTD and I love the work I do. I really enjoy collaborating with others in a mentoring environment. My exceptional communication skills encourage me to build a rapport with my students. In all, my students' success and goals are always high priority.

Experience

Throughout highschool, I had the opportunity to tutor Math, Science, Spanish and English. By working with students of various ages, cultures and background knowledge, I was adaptive, engaging and attentive to their strengths and weakness. I also have experience as an SAT Math Tutor and a Pre-Calculus Instructor for Mu Alpha Theta, a competitive mathematics organization My favorite is STEM tutoring since the content application is vital towards advancing research, medicine and engineering.

Approach

My tutoring style is to motivate students through a constructivist approach to learning and engage the in discussion-style instruction. I am adaptive to my students’ background knowledge, strengths, weaknesses and goals. I aim to build trust, comfort and attention in the tutoring relationship in order to ensure optimal communication. I hope to help develop students’ confidence when approaching new content so that they feel and perform their best. Looking forward to share what I have to offer.
